Have a COW!

Commissioned projects are keeping me busy. I love it when I draw something that makes me smile a few days later, especially when late at night, my weary eyes fall upon the cut-out piece of paper that it lives on. I like this one. Moo.

Time is a strange beast

According to my limited knowledge of blogging, it has been quite some time since I have posted something new.

Three weeks can be a great amount of time for many things to unfold and happen, and I am happy that I have returned 'something blue' to the winter of 2008. With the welcoming of Spring, I also welcomed, and am now celebrating a renewed focus and passion for creating.

As for 'something borrowed', I have taken inspiration from a wonderful phrase for the main, mini-talking-to that I have given myself over the past day or so. The phrase I have to remind myself to repeat aloud for now is "one step at a time...". I often become overwhelmed with wanting to create and develop so many ideas from birth to successful fruition all at the same time, that I forget about the joy that comes from experiencing the journeys. Not only that, but in worrying about how I'm going to get from A to B, I actually waste time in working on anything. (Also something borrowed from a friend's generous counsel). Circles of confusion, doubt and creatively-saturated seeds of ideas whirl about my soft, cotton wool ball of a head to click me into an idle position that affects not only my mind, but my body as well. So to take one step at a time is not only for my mind to move along at a calmer pace, but also for my body to move smoothly, and to move at all.

Wow, I obviously needed to get that off my chest. Or shoulders. Or mind.

I've been drawing A LOT. I can't remember a time when I've been prouder of the progress and improvements that I'm making to my picture-making skills.

For the times that I will be too busy to blog, I will post 'SNEEK PEEKS' of the work that I'm creating for the projects that are keeping me busy. Here is the first one. It's an illustration for a secret project (which I'll write more about when it's not so secret).

Back to drawing. And rest assured, I won't be too busy wasting time in worrying about it. It's probably not ever wasted anyway, because if we're not doing something, then we're doing something else. And if we're late for something, then we're just doing something else. Anything. And we may as well enjoy it while and because we can.
