Quick Caricature

Here is a quick sketch I did of a colleague soon after I started my broad beans* recently. I had so much fun drawing this impromptu sketch - it flowed easily, naturally and joyously. It brought a huge soul-smile to remember the special fondness I have for the art of caricature.

*broad beans = my term for what some call a 'day job' or 'working for bread and butter'. I love thinking of all the yummy vegetables I can buy as a result of this kind of activity!

Re-surfacing from hibernation!

It seems like (almost) more than half a year has passed since my last post. And the feeling I have about how much has passed can't really be measured in time, but rather the texture of the air around me as I sigh and start to contemplate the journey I've shuffled, hopped and danced a little in that time.

This blog has turned out to be more like one of those old-fashioned diaries, writing my thoughts and feelings and only expecting myself to read them. It's nice. As such, I'd like to let myself know that I have started the process of re-setting and re-inventing. As such, this blog may soon cease to be, in favour of a new blog or a new, little snippet of something, somewhere, on this world wide webtastica. Until then, I'll post a few little drawings here in this online collection of random musings.

As Spring has begun, I'm enjoying the freshness and inspiration for creation that it brings and shares.

Rest In Peace, Babcia

Here are some photos from last year when I gave my Babcia a drawing I did of her and her very much loved dog, Pierre.
It was Babcia's suggestion to take a photo in which the both of us were looking at the artwork.




Babcia's spirit is one that is immeasurable - light, beautiful, cheeky and full of strength.

I send out big hugs for you, thank you for being so awesome and such a loving presence in each of the family members' lives and I love you. Thank you for bringing about so many smiles and laughter and good, ol' warm feelings. Another big hug...

Finally! Hooray! I uploaded my newly designed website.

Quick Caricature of the Day

Here is a quick sketch of an Australian politician.

I drew it with a Sharpie and the fine end of a Tombo, scanned it into the computer in greyscale and then added a little bit of BOLD colour in Photoshop.

It's been quiet around here...

Wow! If a spider could get into the blog world and start weaving a fine web, then I could have expected to do some Spring cleaning upon my return here.

It has been quiet in the last few months in terms of posting action. This is somewhat due to spreading the love around elsewhere.
